Searched for variations of the surname Conner. Only found one reference to this surname, as follows from The Florence Weekly Times, 25 August 1898: P160, "The news came yesterday afternoon of the death of Mrs. Mary McLendon, the mother of Sheriff R. McLendon. She died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Connor, just below Pemel Church."

Searched for variations of the name Diedy Mack, searching for any woman who was listed as black, lived in Marion County, South Carolina, and was born 1851-1855. Found several women who fit this search criteria but no clear matches to the woman who was living with James Conner, Jr., in 1900.

Each volume is individually indexed. Searched each volume for the surname Conner. Found quite a few references to the surname, but no reference to any of the children of James and Nelly Conner.
