During
childhood, farming was a major part of Jule's life. He had
morning chores to complete before going to school each morning
and when the chores were completed, he then walked 3 miles
to school along with his brothers and sister. Returning
from school In the afternoon there was planting, plowing
and feeding the livestock to be done, then of course, homework
to complete.
In
the summer of 1956, Jule married Barbara Ellison, and they
moved to Brooklyn, New York where they lived until 1968.
During that time three children were born, Lorraine, Wanda,
and Larry.

In
New York Jule also had the good fortune to work for Grumman
Aerospace, which provide additional schooling in aerospace
technology. Jule had the opportunity to have worked on building
the space craft that John Glenn flew..
After
returning to Marion in 1969, Jule returned to farming while
also working for Union Carbide. He retired from ESAB (formerly
Union Carbide) in 1997.
Jule was then asked to become a member of Pee Dee Electric
and in 1999, he was elected Chairman of the Board. He remains
in that position today.
As the years have passed Jule remains a farmer at heart
and like all the Conners, very much involved in family.
