Introduction
Come
with us on a journey through time. Beginning in the 1800's with
James Conner (the son of a former slave from the Spartanburg area)
and his wife Anna Wise, the Conner family has both seen the depths
of darkness and at times soared on the wings of angels. Through
it all they continually found their strength in an abiding faith
in God and a profound love of family.
Theirs is
a story not so different from other American families and yet
with moments of such uniqueness deserving to be chronicled lest
the children of a later generation forget their significance.
The telling of that story will be the ongoing mission of this
web site ..... a journey of discovery, pictures and words giving
a glimpse into nearly forgotten moments, and the vision of a bright
future.
The
Conner Family wishes to give credit and our heartfelt appreciation
to Harry Conner and his wife Jacequalyn for their unfailing dedication
in seeing this project carry on and for the design of our family
crest (pictured below) which has been incorporated into the heading
of our web site pages.
