Historical Background

Following is historical background information gleaned during genealogy research on the Conner family. It is significant in that a better understanding of the times will help us to better understand the lives of the people who lived then.

There are many questions, at this time, about what James Conner Sr.'s years as a slave must have been like and especially his father before him. From this documentary we are provided some hints.
