Harry was born December 30, 1946, in Marion, South Carolina, the son of James and Arletha Conner.

Harry attended Marion County Schools, graduating from Johnakin High in 1964.

Harry entered the Army in January of 1965 and spent most of his three year enlistment in the European Theater. Harry was given the opportunity to become a Military Attaché, working primarily in Augsburg, Germany and the Hague in the Netherlands. During that time he had the good fortune to travel to 46 different countries.

In December of 1967, Harry married Mary Louise Dorsey. From that union a son, Darren Eugene, was born.

During Harry's tour in the Military he attended the University of Maryland Extension in Munich, Germany.

Harry's professional career totaled thirty-three years with United Parcel Service. At the time of his retirement he was the Regional Manager for their Midwest Region, with offices in Columbus, Ohio and with responsibilities for all operations in Michigan, Ohio and Kentucky.

Harry says that, "a lot of credit must be given to my brother-in-law, Charles Henry Jordan. Without this encouragement I believe my career with UPS would have been short lived. To that end, I can't say thank you enough."

In September, 1982, Cassie Danielle was born. After seventeen years of friendship Jacequalyn Snipes finally said, "yes!" and she and Harry were married in May of 1986. Harry states that it was Jackie who set his life on the right course. It is good to see how God balances our lives with marriage partnerships that compliment each other so as to make our lives whole. Jackie has been that balance in Harry's life and the family was once again strengthened as a result.

Since retiring, Harry has committed himself to completing a genealogical study of the Conner Family. As a result of those efforts, the Conner Family web site was developed. Harry's passion for family unity is unwavering and evident in his devotion to this project.

Cassie is now attending Perimeter College in Atlanta, Georgia. Darren graduated from the University of Colorado and now works for the State of Colorado. He is married to Melinda and they have two children: Maya and Kye.
