David Conner and his wife Mary Conner

David was born in April of, 1876 in Jeffreys Township, Florence County, South Carolina, the son of James Conner Sr. and Nellie.

The 1900 census enumerates David's household and shows his brother, Allen living with him as well as his stepmother Angie. He could read and write, a noted accomplishment as many people, both black and white, of that day were illiterate. David owned his own farm, free of mortgage.

David was still living in Jeffreys Township when the 1910 census was taken. He was married to Mary and had 2 daughters, Estille and Mildred and an adopted son, Allen Thoma (or possibly Thomas ?).

After 1910 there was no other mention of David, Mary or their children in census records.
